Title: Fashion magazine - 02
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Pairing: Kirk/Spock

Tagline: What if Spock and Kirk, as couple, were featured in a fashion magazine - part two.
Series: Second and last shot for the series. First piece here.
Notes: See the first pic.
Notes 2: Edited, as in August 2018, because on brighter monitors the blacks of Spock's head are definitely too heavy.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): When I've managed to make a decent version of the first pic, I decided to make a Reboot version for this base pic as well.
Disclaimer: Don't own anything on this. Full credits below the manip itself.

2) Achilles (Jim) and Patroclus (Spock). We all know what happens and how crazy Achilles becomes after Patroclus's death. You should read "The Song of Achilles" because in part this Jim/Spock version of the story can relate to that book. Probably. We never really thought about it, and I read the book when we already decided to not continue the fic.

3) Alexander the Great (Jim) and Hephaistion (Spock). Same as above. Please note that me and my co-neuron based this reincarnation of Oliver Stone's revisited cut.

4) Caesar (Jim) and Brutus (Spock). Based on Conn Iggulden's four book series about him, where Julius and Brutus become friends and almost brothers since childhood. This reincarnation shows how Jim can spin out of control if Spock isn't there to balance him. Since Brutus and Caesar get split when their young and then, when they meet again, Caesar is already set on his own conquering path, they pick different sides and Brutus makes it his duty to stop Caesar And then yes, Brutus kill Caesar blah blah. So, to summarize: remove Spock from Jim and he'll go mad; have Spock not even bond/marry/love Jim, and it'll be even worst.

5) A reincarnation as Andorians is mentioned. In this race there are four genders so they will have a foursome couple. The other two will be previous reincarnation of Gaila's (who is Jim best friend in this mirror verse) and Sh'aar (who is Spock's pledged bloodbrother).

If there's been other reincarnations before they were born as Jim and Spock, it's not known. Jim and Spock were meant to discover this few months before Spock's death through the guy of Requiem for Methuselah, who actually you'd find out is somehow a Homer and already knows, from the start, how the story will go.

So, there's a pattern in their life. Spock dies, Jim gets out of his mind, and chaos erupts. :D

I should've explained all. I think.

What a universe! And it's a fabulous idea to transform Jim and Spock into historical characters whose lives were matching their katra. It's a fantastic superstructure to a highly complex story. You two are damn creative guys!!

(And I will now have a good reason to finally read The Song of Achilles which has been sitting on my shelf for an eternity...)

Thank you so much for the explanations, it was a great read, and it's a great universe you two created!

I'm sure we're not the first. I remember a fanfic here on LJ (with matching fanarts inserted between the scenes) that pictured them as past Alexander/Hephaistion, but - if I recall right - even two soldiers in one of the two Word War. Hmmm.

The book reminded me of old school Kirk/Spock fics. Especially in the way the author approaches sex scenes, so you might love it. Sure, it's not super historically accurate and I'd take it as historical (slash) fanfic, but surely is worth the money of the book. ;)

You're welcome. And thanks again for showing interest in this. ;)

When there are others I never found them...Anyway, I'd prefer a series of reincarnations to a single one. In a series, you can go for character development, which would make the plot more interesting.

Alexander already was a myth in his lifetime, so who wants to decide what's accurate and what's not? ;) No, seriously, in a novel I don't look for accuracy but for good and solid psychology. As soon as I'm through with the Brontës I'll go for Alexander. (I'll need the diversion...)

You're most welcome!!
