Title: Star trek edits: TOS Mirror crew
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (classic)
Timeline: Mirror (1.5)
Characters: All seven core main plus a couple of named characters.
Rating: G
Tagline: The ISS Enterprise senior crew and additional officers by 2267.
About the edit: All the characters shown have appeared in the episode (duh!) but positions, on top of the names of two, aren't strictly canon.
Notes: There is no official motto for the ISS Enterprise. I decided to modify the classic intro into one that would fit for the Empire.
Notes 2: The tv show uses the old Stardate method. No specific stardate is offered, besides the year.
Notes 3: In some renderings, the Terran Empire emblem is added on the hull. On the I.S.S Enterprise, as we see it in both the original and the CGI-remade episode, the emblem is missing. I decided to stick with the canon.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): Not satisfied. Everything looks better with the AOS colors (gray background). Also, working with characters taken from screencaps is a big no-no in my house.

Title: Star trek edits: SNW crew
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (new trek)
Characters: All main and a couple of recurring.
Rating: G
Tagline: The USS Enterprise senior crew and additional officers by 2259.68.
About the edit: This is the crew from the Season 1, pre-All Those Who Wander so to include Hemmer, who we didn't deserve to see die so early.
Notes 1 I left out all the named crew members that were seen only in an episode.
Notes 2: The tv show uses the old Stardate method. But according to Memory Alpha, 1x01 takes place in either 2259.42 or 2259.55 (there's a note about the episode occurring in the same day the events of Into Darkness happen in the AOS timeline.
Notes 3: Number of crew complement from a ship overview/scan seen in Discovery.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): Not satisfied. Everything looks better with the AOS colors (gray background).
Also, there aren't much pics of the sets to play with. Some had to be taken from the tv show, which means dark sets.

prue84: (Uhura 2.0)
Title: White sheets, Space Threesome version
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Pairing: Kirk/Spock/Uhura
Characters: James Kirk, Nyota Uhura, Spock
Rating: G
Tagline: The Power Trio of the U.S.S. Enterprise in bed.
Series: White sheets
About the manip: Post-Into Darkness, both Spock and Nyota find themselves torn about their feelings toward Jim, feelings awakened by James's tragic brush with death. Feelings growing as days pass, and closeness with a weak James facing rehabilitation.
Each of them face their conflicting feelings on their own, until Nyota decides it's time to talk to Spock. It's a shock for her to discover that he too is feeling pulled in two opposite directions, the one who leads to Nyota (the woman he loves) and the one who leads to James (a man for whom he's harboring many different emotions). Neither wish to break their relationship, neither feel they'll be able to stop the growing love for James Kirk.
Eventually they find a solution to the conundrum: include James in their romantic life. If James agrees, that's all.
Notes: Yes, they are in a very balanced polyamorous relationship and they are very happy about it.
Notes 2: This manip had been planned back in 2015 (or even before). All necessary pics were collected back then.
Skip to 2023. One of the people I follow in Tumblr reblogs a post from [community profile] ksspringfever. The curiosity killed the cat and I took a look at the prompts. I happen into one asking for a Spirkxothers, with a preference for either McSpirk or Spihura. Bam. I love the threesome so much that I jumped on the idea... completely missing that the person asked for a fic. ahahah.
But at least, not without hurdles, I sat down and made a manip - the first in months. Which makes the effort worthy.
A kind admin reached out to reassure me I could post it anyway, so here I am.
Notes 3: I have other pics that, in an alternate timeline in which I am productive, would be turned into Space Threesome. There might be a chance for another from the same tv show, same setting (a bed) but different shooting set - possibly different season.
But the one I irk to do the most, and I hope to make, will be an explicit bisexual threesome with pegging. Don't hold your breath though.
Notes 4: Name from a series featuring all the four flavors of Spirk (TOS, TOS Mirror, AOS and AOS Mirror) that was started in 2015. One is finished and ugly, one needs some retouches so at least two could see some light in the future.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): Most of the time expensive part of manipping had been already take care of in 2015, I already had a couple of pic per actor ready to select from. Not to say the manip was easier. The original pic featured a big copyright logo that had to be removed by painstaking and precise use of cloning brush. Then it was the selection of the best faces and the irking action of actually fitting the faces. Zoe and Pine were easy, all things considered (the woman's hair had to be fixed, the man's face partially covered, shadows fixed). But then comes Zachary Fucking Quinto, the guy with the most brushy and biggest brows this side of Hollywood. The original actor held his head in a very unique position, and fit Zachary wasn't easy, especially on the neck. But then... Spock-ize Zachary *insert crying emoji here*.
The worst were the hair. I'm still not happy, but I tried the best I could.
I'm still torn on this manip. One on side I like it, on another I'm not convinced of it. But I know it's all fault of the original pic, which had bad light.

Title: Memories from the betrothal
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Pairing: T'Pring/Uhura
Characters: T'Pring, Nyota Uhura, Hendorff, Gaila, Darwin, Hikaru Sulu, Leonard McCoy, Carol Marcus. An OC (Uhura's sister).
Rating: G
Tagline: Two captured moments of T'Pring and Nyota Uhura's betrothal ceremony.
About the manip: In a future post Beyond, where Spock accepts the ineluctable truth of being subject to James Kirk's gravitational pull and stops resisting, Uhura discovers that she really is meant to marry into Vulcan, just on the opposite site of the biological spectrum she planned.
Jim, Scotty, Chekov and cadet ensign Jaylah are somewhere trying to drink each other under the table. Spock is very embarrassed by his mate and is probably closed in some bathroom asking to his own reflection why again he decided to get himself lured by the captain's tempting mind after he and Nyota parted ways - and yes, perhaps why he let Nyota go in the first place.
Notes: Something thrown together for 2022 [tumblr.com profile] uhuramonth.
Notes 2: The girl smiling at the arrival of the couple in the first manip is Cisley Saldana, Zoe's sister: I wanted to manip Zoe's mother as Uhura's mother on that woman raising the glass, but Asalia Nazaro has a very different body structure, and it felt disrespectful to place her head on a "fitting" body, when she's plus size. So I decided to include Zoe's sister and turn her into Uhura's sister.
Notes 3: In this house, Gaila is alive and eventually returns to the Enterprise (as hinted in the comic series), and Darwin and Carol (and 0178) weren't cancelled in the rush to erase all Into Darkness existence for Beyond (in this house we love Into Darkness, but it's has become a very controversial statement to make). I'm ready to fight on this. (ง'̀-'́)ง
Notes 4: Killjoys is basically a go-to for Star Trek manips. Seriously, take a look at the gallery at . When I've seen pics from this specific scene my mind went to T'Pring and/or Vulcans, but I didn't know how to use them. Actually, the purple/blue dress would be perfect for Amanda (she has a hairstyle that I'm sure Amanda, either TOS or Discovery, had) but, alas.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): Foreword, at first it was just one manip, the second. It was a challenge but nothing was particularly harder. It did take me a good hour to hunt down Zoe and Kristin pics (and eventually I found that I had a better Zoe saved on and old Stock folder, duh!), especially Kristin was hard to find from that specific view/side: actresses tend to take pics either front, turning back, or side-view with head slightly turned to the camera.
The idea to turn the other characters into Star Trek characters came a day later, when I was actually starting with the manip (day before I researched pics and did a unrefined attempt to see if they fit). I'm actually pleased for how Cho looks - the perfect pic happened in the search first rows! - and Aisha Hinds/Darwin looks so hot.
The idea to make another piece - the first posted - came right one day before the date to post. I love how Uhura turned, very regal - it took me a while, and only a stock photo with all the logo plastered on it, but I found the perfect Zoe both for angle and facial look. I also love how T'Pring turned out, and I even managed to replicate TOS!T'Pring's eye shadow.
Disclaimer: Don't own anything on this. Full credits below the manips themselves.

Title: Embracing the Vulcan culture
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Pairing: Spock/Uhura
Characters: Nyota Uhura, Spock.
Rating: G
Tagline: Spock and Uhura in Vulcan clothes.
About the manip: After the events of Altamid, Spock and Uhura decide to take a sabbatical year on New Vulcan while waiting for the Enterprise-A to be ready to sail again. And Uhura embraces the Vulcan culture - and couture.
Notes: Something thrown together in three hours for [tumblr.com profile] uhuramonth because I discovered it was up, seen that in two days there was AOS!Uhura/Ships theme, and I really wanted to participate despite my "no manips to be rushed" policy. Cheers to me!
Double cheers because I gave up to make this manip in 2020 when I discovered the two Zoe Saldana fansite I used to get her pics were either gone or started from scratch and their big galleries gone.
Notes 2: Yes, I know, that's Yorktown in the background. Don't care.
Spock and Uhura taking a sabbatical year is adressed in IDW's series Star Trek: Boldy Go.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): I do hate Zach, he's got big brows so transfom him into Spock is a nightmare, and he has too few Spock promo pics, and the ones he got (99% coming from Star Trek (2009)) are so photoshop-brushed that they're ugly. And yes, I had to use one of those. Meh. So I can see he's not the right Spock for the time setting I decided for the manip, as you can see he's a 7-years-early Zachary. Sigh. I know, might be just me, and a Spuhura fan might not care, and just enjoy the piece (thank you!), but I'm anal. Forgive me.
Anyway, it's been trickier than you might think, to fix Zoe's face: she was over-light in her pic, and I had to remove those light points, and then fix the Vulcan-woman's hairpiece on her, and that damn lock! All the while, Zachary has no light points, I did what I could but light/shadows aren't my strong manips points.
All in all, it doesn't look as bad as initially looked to me. Although Zoe looks like she's playing a Japanese in traditional costumes. *lol*
Disclaimer: Don't own anything on this.
The Vulcan couple of the pic are two background characters who appeared in the Yorktown set.
Zoe Saldana from CNET magazine, summer 2016.

Title: Star trek edits: AOS crew [updated]
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Timeline: Main AOS
Characters: All main and recurring, plus some TOS recurring and an OC.
Number One, James Kirk, Spock, Leonard McCoy, Montgomery Scott, Nyota Uhura, Hikaru Sulu, Pavel Chekov, Keenser, Hendorff, Carol Marcus, Darwin, Kyle, Moto, 0178, M'Benga, Christine Chapel, Gary Mitchell, Gaila, USS Enterprise (human!Enterprise), Janice Rand.
Rating: G
Tagline: The USS Enterprise senior crew and additional main crew at the start of the year 2261.
About the edit: This is the crew post-Into Darkness, with the addition of few characters that were never included in the Kelvin timeline but were recurring in the Original Series.
Original publishing date: August 16, 2016.
Chronology of the editings: Edit first modified in July 2020, to replace a Tumblr fancasting (Gina Torress) with Discovery/Strange New Worlds's Number One, Rebecca Romijn. To me the two shows above are closer to the Reboot than the TOS: Majel Barrett's Number One will always be the only TOS Number One, Rebecca is and will be my AOS Number One.
Edited again in December 2020 to add two additional characters that I should've never left out the last time, namely Kyle (the character played by Chris Doohan) and the relief navigator Darwin.
Just to be known, the initial reason for putting my hands on this edit again was the discovery that, according to Nichelle Nichols's autobiography, Uhura is "head of Communications", and I wanted to reflect that; contextually, I was working on another fandom in Star Trek edit in which I had more than one communications officer potentials and I needed to differentiate the "Uhura" of them and the relief/other one.
Another edit (I'm a George Lucas...) in February 2021, as I noticed that the logo for the UFP I've been using was strictly the TOS/Prime timeline one, and that in AOS it was slightly changed and the colors were switched (blue logo on white, when originally was white on blue). While I were at it, I changed the Enterprise into a composition that I will be able to keep without any change needed in other edits that will feature a constitution class but aren't the Enterprise. I also decided to add Lieutenant 0718 and Lieutenant Moto.
The edit was tweaked again here and there until officially the final version, with the lengthy characters presentations, was released on December 2021.
One last, and I mean LAST time (heard me, Hakka??!), in early March 2022 (published March 06), when I completely revamped the graphic to try to make these edit a bit shorter when there’s a big crew cast (to then discover Tumblr has upped the max height size to 3072 -.-).
Fixed in early April 2022 to remove the "G." as "Geoffrey" for M'Benga's second name, as Jabilo M'Benga has been canonized in a poster has his name.
Fixed again in early November 2023 because Strange New Worlds has canonized "Joseph".
Notes: Most of the non-canon (as in "non specified in the movies") bits for the main characters comes from either the Star Trek movie script, the Star Trek movie app, from the two IDW comics series or official novels, and can easily found on either Memory Alpha or Memory Beta. Rest is explained in the "addendum" post (see below).
Notes, additional: Jaylah will definitely be kidnapped by Jim and the crew offered a position on the Enterprise as soon as she's finished the Academy, although by then the mission should be ended. :(
About the "made up" roles: Liaison Officer, Computer Officer, Armory Officer and Security Chief don't exist in either canon or non-canon Star Trek and were made up by me. See more at this post.
About assignments, ranks, names and other changes: Since the post was exceeding Livejournal's limits (also, already very long textwall), these have been collected at this additional post.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): I hate Paramount because they stopped to release HQ promo pics. I managed to get my hands on some decent quality Into Darkness promo pics (well, the only ones they did - the ones used for the Empire cover - thanks to the site of an Italian small editor but they were all watermarked. :()
You might recognize Mitchell, M'Benga, Chapel and Rand from manips I already released. I made a brand new Cupcake because he deserves to be there, poor Cuppy; the same for 0178 - although the quality of the latest leaves a lot to be desired. Rachel Nichols is beautiful and "Orionize" blondes is always funny.
Keenser... well, I cheated because he comes from a screencap. :D
My Silver Lady. It was much fun to make her.

Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Timeline: AOS Genderbend AU
Characters: All main and recurring, plus some TOS recurring and an OC.
Christopher Pike, James Kirk, Spock, Leonard McCoy, Montgomery Scott, Nyota Uhura, Hikaru Sulu, Pavel Chekov, Keenser, Hendorff, Carol Marcus, Darwin, Kyle, Moto, 0178, M'Benga, Christine Chapel, Gary Mitchell, Gaila, USS Enterprise (human!Enterprise), Janice Rand.
Rating: G
Tagline: Senior crew and additional main crew of the U.S.S Enterprise from a genderswapped alternate timeline.
Series: Star Trek AUs, Rule 63 Trek
About the edit: Genderswapped version of the crew (as seen here).
Notes: Lieutenant 1701 is the humanoid version of the USS Enterprise (see this post for more info). Since in this universe everyone has the opposite gender, the Enterprise (and ships) is referred to as a "he" and therefore Silver Lord.
Notes 2: More info about crew and titles at the AOS crew edit.
Notes 3: Pike is still alive here (just because I wanted to have Jamie Lee Curtis, sorry).
Notes 4: Originally this was posted August 17, 2016. Slightly edited in December 2020 and another time in February 2021 and a last time between October and November 2021. For what and why, see the AOS edit.
One last, and I mean LAST time (heard me, Hakka??!), in early March 2022 (published March 06), when I completely revamped the graphic to try to make these edit a bit shorter when there's a big crew cast (to then discover Tumblr has upped the max height size to 3072 -.-).
Notes 5: It has been brought to my attention that the actress who once went by the name Ellen has come out and now goes by he/they under the chosen name Elliot. This fancasting was picked in 2016, when this piece was put together and originally published, and does reflect who Elliot went by at the time (she/Ellen). For these reasons, I won't cancel or remake this manip with another fancasting, but I felt the note was necessary to acknowledge that this fancasting couldn't work anymore and I would pick another actress if I were to make it in 2021.
This might be a good reason to headcanon Pavla as coming out and becoming Pavel in a time after this (fake) pic was supposed to be taken. ;)
About the names: Keensera is the name for the female Kenseer in "Parallel lives" (Star Trek #29/#30).
I decided that, in a world where the "canon" sex of everyone is swapped, then perhaps Gaila's mother would've picked the same names for her children and just switched them. Gaila's and her brother Kai appear in "Reunion" (Star Trek 53/54); in the end of this comic Gaila applied to be transferred on the USS Enterprise (where her brother serves).
Lieutenant Moto was named to an homage after the make-up effects sculptor Moto Hata, the man who designed the alien/mask and passed away in 2009. For the alien's female version, I chose to switch to the artist's surname.
Matthew is a masculine name related to May, from which Mae (Darwin's comics-canon name) seems to derive.
There's no canon name to the TOS character Kyle, whom Chris Doohan claims he played in the AOS movies; "Christopher" was in honor to him. To not resort to the classic "Christine" I chose the Kristeen, which apparently is a Scottish equivalent of Christine. Even if Kyle isn't Scottish and Chris - like his father - isn't Scottish either.
I explained the meaning of the other crew members' names at their manips: you can find them under the series tag or under the character's own tag.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): Ah ah. This thing was a nightmare. I've been working on this since... way before summer. Every time I felt it was finished... I had the idea to change something (position of the Fleet logo, it was meant to take a square and be a "log in" page instead of be an header), then I needed to fill a blank hole, then it was another character I felt I had to add, then came the idea to make an edit for the canon crew (with additional characters) and I had the two version to reflect each other and so on. I swear, nightmare.

Title: Mom's pride
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Characters: James Kirk, the Kirk family
Rating: G
Tagline: Winona Kirk's tweet for Jim's 29th birthday.
Series: Tweets from the Enterprise
About the manip: Momma Kirk is very proud of her puppy.
Notes: More about the Human!Enterprise here.
Notes 2: I meant this one to be set after Beyond events, but I'd have to change the uniforms in the avatars so... no, thank you.
Anyway, Gaila has become part of the Enterprise crew in 2262.335, according to the comic books, but let's forget this detail, shall we?
Notes 3: One of the name given to her in the past by official-not-canon material was Marjorie Wimpole. I kept it as second name.
I come from a country (Italy) where the wife doesn't and can't take the husband's surname (I woman I knew signed her checks with her husband's name, but that's it. Legally, you have the surname with which you were registered at birth). This to say that a part of me cannot accept the whole "Winona Kirk" thing, because she should just be Winona Davis (apparently that's her surname) or, if ever, Winona Davis Kirk.
With the kind of past she has, I would never see her keeping the "Kirk" surname, especially because she would never want to draw attention on herself and her tragedy.
Notes 4: I decided to turn the manip into a part of the Twitter series because, as stand alone, it sucked. It's not bad, but I just wasn't satisfied by the final result with the Iowan background: the finished piece just looks... fake?
Notes 5: Edit modified in July 2020. Replaced a Tumblr fancasting (Gina Torress) with Discovery/Strange New Worlds's Number One, Rebecca Romijn. To me the two shows above are closer to the Reboot than the TOS: Majel Barrett's Number One will always be the only TOS Number One, Rebecca is and will be my AOS Number One.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): Background coming from a (dropped) wip manip of mine, in which Jim Kirk was posing with the Kirk farm in the background. Composed by the construction and other three pics merged together.
Funny, though, that - months later - I've seen the same farm used as the Kirk farm in an "official" comic book (a memory of Spock Prime going to visit Jim's grave in Riverside. The prequel to ST XI perhaps?). XD

Timeline: AOS Knight Rider AU
Pairing: Kirk/Spock, Kirk/Uhura, Kirk/Spock/Uhura
Characters: James Kirk, Spock, Nyota Uhura, Christopher Pike, Pavel Chekov, Hikaru Sulu, Montgomery Scott, Leonard McCoy
Rating: G
Tagline: The Knight Industries Research Enterprise Division employees.
Series: Star Trek AUs, Knight Rider AU.
Notes For the people who didn’t see the tv show, some explanations are in order:
Mike and KITT 3000 (Jim and Spock).
I already explained it here.
Sarah Graiman (Uhura). Sarah and Mike have been a couple before he left for a mission and vanished for years. She's been in mission with Mike and KITT, proving she’s a valid partner for them; she also takes care of KITT's software. Competent both on and off field, I though she was perfect for Uhura.
Charles Graiman (Pike). Charles Graiman is the head of the KR and also some kind of father figure for Mike, who grew up without a father, so it had to be Pike.
Billy Morgan (Chekov). Billy is what you'd call geek: he loves comic books and sci-fi, videogames and he's also unable to flirt with women. He has several advanced degrees and is a genius. I picked Scotty for this (head research technician? You just cannot not give that role to Scotty) but I changed mind after Beyond: not only Chekov fits better (youngest, cutest, buttjoke of the team, the genius) but Billy also partnered with Mike, and Chekov partnered with Jim in Beyond so...
Zoe Chae (Sulu). Zoe is witty, intelligent and pretty good on the field. Sulu can kick-ass and doesn’t need someone to save him, because he saves himself. I swear, the choice of giving Sulu the role originally of an Asian girl it’s just coincidence: I initially put Sulu as the FBI agent (Carrie below) and I changed this when I decided to switch Chekov. You cannot really have Chekov and Sulu, the Gossip Queens, split.
Carrie Rivai (Scotty). F.B.I agent, she is assigned to the Knight Industries after saving Doctor Graiman. Despite the appearance, Scotty is a kickass guy - see Into Darkness, when he faces danger and comes up with many lies in order to infiltrate - and Carrie is a kickass F.B.I agent who isn't scared to discard the rules or think with her own head (as seen in the pilot).
Alex Torres (Bones). Alex is NSA and is in charge of the KR Division. There was no role that would fit Bones in this, and I like the idea of Bones giving orders to Mike/Jim, if you ask me.
James Kirk (TOS) as Michael Knight and K.I.T.T. (2000) as Spock (TOS).
I already explained here why the Space Husbands would be perfect to fill Michael’s and KITT’s shoes (or, you now, tyres).
In the Knight Rider (2008) pilot Mike discovers his father is Michael Knight’s, the driver of the original KITT, with whom he shares name - he takes the surname later. I could really make George Kirk the partner of another KITT, I couldn’t, and James TOS worked. Sue me. :D
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): I used the original graphic for the series official site: I managed to get my hands on it via the Internet Archive.

Characters: Nyota Uhura, Christine Chapel
Rating: PG-13
Tagline: The ladies of the USS Enterprise finally have some time for themselves.
Notes: The original is a 90's poster/ad for safe sex. When I saw it on my dashboard, some months ago, I heard it tell me "Chapel/Uhura": I had no intention of do a manip for a pair I don't actively care for, but... yeah, it called me, so I saved it and hunted for screencaps that could work.
When a couple of days ago I was trying to clean up my WIP/to-do folders, I trashed this one, but then changed my mind and did it. Not satisfied with the result (I wanted them to kiss like in the original, but it was above my skills), but... ehh, I do hate doing TOS things.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): It took me more time to find the right screencaps than do the manip but I couldn't resist the base.
The pic is small, and this irked me, but the screencaps I used wouldn't work on a bigger image anyway so.

Title: Lieutenant Kijani Uhura
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Timeline: AOS Genderbend AU
Characters: Nyota Uhura
Rating: G
Tagline: DB Woodside as male!Uhura.
Series: Rule 63 Trek
Notes: I love DB Woodside's eyes. It's just... well, it was love at first sight since his first time in 24. The cut of his eyes (not well shown in this pic, though) reminds me of Zoe's, that's why I picked him. I know he's a little bit too old, compared to Zoe: I did my best to remove some sign of age from his face.
About the name: In "Parallel lives" (Star Trek #29/#30), the male Uhura is called Nnamdi Uhuro: frankly, I have no idea if it makes sense that "Uhura" becomes "Uhuro" (does Uhura have a male form?), nor I have searched what Nnamdi means.
For a WIP of mine, way before this comic came out, I genderbent Uhura, so here's the reason for my name choice: there’s no specific male form corresponding to Nyota (“star”) but apparently the name also means “warrior”: the male name Kijani (pronunciation KEE-jah-nee) means warrior.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): There are so few decent costumes/replicas for the uniforms out there: of these few, not all have decent quality pics and, most important, they are worn by real models and the model doesn't look ludicrous and stiff.
This one was decent enough for posture, and of good quality. Sure, pants and shoes and the undershirt are wrong, and the metal pin was a fabric patch (so I had to change it) and the phaser replica is a perfect replica but... all white (WTF??) so I had to find a pic of the real replica that could fit the particular position and was big enough to do so (nightmare indeed). But, hmm, not bad result, in the end.

prue84: (Uhura 2.0)
Title: Lieutenant Nyota Punk Uhura
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Characters: Nyota Uhura
Rating: G
Tagline: Nyota Uhura sporting a mohawk.
Notes: I stumbled upon a pic of Kelly Palcy some months ago (Oh, hell, fucking September) with this awesome hairstyle and I wanted to have Uhura to have it too.
Notes #2: Not sure if I was inspired to her works (I probably didn't even remember her post by the time I found the picture), but definitely dedicated to [tumblr.com profile] rachaelstott because she did these awesome sketches of Cadet Uhura with some different hairstyles.
Notes #3: I know Uhura is not the least being a punk here. I gave the manip this title because 1) I didn't know how else to call it, 2) to pair it with the Captain Jim Punk Kirk I made in the 2014. :D
Actually, she could definitely sport this hairstyle everyday on the bridge.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): Does this look simple manip? Well, it wasn't. Besides the damn lighting of the ST promo pics, the model wasn't really by profile and finding a Zoe that fit was a mission impossible so, in the end, I had to resort to old Uhura's promos.
Also, sorry for the very heavy abuse of shadows but Kelly Palcy's pic was of low quality and I had to mask it somehow. :(

prue84: (Uhura 2.0)
Title: The fab six
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Characters: Nyota Uhura, Hikaru Sulu, Pavel Chekov, Montgomery Scott, M'Benga, G.P. Hendorff
Rating: G
Tagline: All the Enterprise's head departments, minus Science and Medical. Chekov joined them because is part of the senior crew on the bridge and M'Benga because he's McCoy's second in command, 'nuff said.
Notes: So sad that there's no pic in this photoshoot to do the fab 3, aka the triumvirate. :( I found three pics: this one, that one I used for Uhura and Carol, and one that features two women and a man, so no triumvirate. ç_ç
Notes #2: Yes, I've accepted the fancanon that reboot M'Benga is Michael Early.
Notes #3: I so hate using people with tattoos.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): You have no idea how masochist one has to be in order to even start working on a manip like this one, starting with the fact the original pic featured only four model plus their (very covered) coach. Had to remove the latter and add the fifth half-naked guy. Not happy, I even decided later that Mr. Hendorff could not be left out!
Anyway, to recap, I had to:
- remove the gallons of ink from Sulu's (and then Cupcake's) body;
- remove the watch from Scotty's and Chekov's body;
- try add that watch-like bracelet Chief Engineer Scotty wears;
- find faces of all actors that fitted (quite a feat, since John, Simon and Anton don't have a dedicated fansite);
- try to change a bit the shape of Scotty's body so it's not a too obvious copy of Chekov's. Probably failed but whatever;
- create some bits of legs for Cupcake's because, to make it taller, I had to move the whole model;
- the damn shadows. I swear;
- fix the background twice because of the added bodies. I swear, my father (who is a construction worker and is very specialized in walls made of rocks, could be proud of me;
- have I said find the faces? Only Zoe and Michael were easy. Michael looks quite awesome, if you ask me;
- damn Jason Matthew Smith. There are literally three pics of him that aren't screencaps. Luckily, the one on IMDB.com worked and was the right size.

Title: Abercrombie & fitch, the Enterprise version - I
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Characters: James Kirk, Nyota Uhura, Carol Marcus.
Rating: G
Tagline: The gossip queens of the Enterprise together on the beach.
Series: Space friends³
About the manip: I don't care what you say, these three are gossip queens (Sulu and Chekov are the kings, by the way).
Notes: This thing was sitting on my HD since the end of August. I'm not fully satisfied but I outright refuse to work on this more. I don't care. Whatever.

prue84: (Uhura 2.0)
Title: The queens of the USS Enterprise
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Characters: Nyota Uhura, Carol Marcus
Rating: G
Tagline: What if Jim Kirk talked Uhura and Carol into doing a "let's play top models" photo shoot.
Series: Space friends³
About the manip: Who's with me that, in this timeline, Uhura's best (female) friend is Carol? They do hang out and gossip behind Jim's back and annoy him whenever they can (Jim does the same so don't worry).
The title "Queens of the USS Enterprise" is actually the nickname Jim gave them: he so loves his queens. He might be also nagging them to cosplay Storm and Emma Frost sometime in the future.
Notes: Yes, there's Jim Kirk behind the camera.
Notes #2: Uhura looks awesome in her "don't fucking mess with me, see this gal here? Mine!" while Carol... well, she really is aiming for the sexy shoot. (Feel free to insert femslash here, if you like).
Notes #3: The black model has something of Nichelle Nichols, I don't know if she naturally looks like Ms. Nichols or if it's the makeup. Anyway, I would've loved to make this a TOS Uhura/Chapel photo but I wasn't ready for the disappointment to search for pics of 60s actresses and find none that would fit, especially the odd pose of the blonde model that would be Chapel.
Anyway, I found two other pics from this same shoot, with the addition of other people, and I'll do them as well with "secondary" characters from AOS (read = not the triumvirate). I'm actually 80% done with a massive group (the original pic was made of 4 characters, but I turned it into 5 characters).
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip):: You have no idea how I hated this while working on it and how I still hate it. The base was awesome in subject, but not in quality.
The blond model had the face in this weird pose: there is no fansite for Alice Eve and this meant fight with Google Images to find a decent pic that would fit. Nonetheless to say that the one that fitted the most was... not big enough. Anyway, I know she looks odd and the shadows I added don't really fix the issue. I hate this, because Zoe, on the other side, looks so perfect.
Last, but not least: the blond model had a very weird white hue on her skin. I had to "pink-ize" her, would you believe? And I still had to desaturate a bit because she still was too white for Alice's face. Oh well.

Title: Girls night (aka Space BFF part II)
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Characters: Jim Kirk, Nyota Uhura
Rating: G
Tagline: Jim taking care of Uhura's cute little nails, because Uhura likes to have her feet perfectly manicured even if she's wearing mostly boots.
Series: Space friends. Follow-up of this one.
Notes: Jim Kirk's glasses aren't corrective but just restive lenses. I wanted to have Uhura in glasses too, but the perfect Zoe wasn't wearing eyeglasses. In my headcanon, she too wears restive eyeglasses before sleeping. More about this at the first piece.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): Again, the woman in the pic was white so I had to darken the skin enough to match Zoe's. Let me know if you think I haven't darkened it enough.

prue84: (Kirk 2.0)
Title: Girls night (aka Space BFF part I)
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Characters: Jim Kirk, Nyota Uhura
Rating: G
Tagline: Jim and Nyota kicking back together for some relaxing off duty time.
Series: Space friends
Notes: From this post of my own, I like the idea of Jim and Uhura be best friend and do things together, painting nails included. My headcanon is that Jim isn't just decent but actually quite good at it, so he likes to play with Uhura's perfect nails and Uhura just let him. So he experiments, perhaps does some nail art too.
Notes #2: Who doesn't love the idea of our captain with eyeglass? I was waiting for the chance to put him in eyeglasses and this seemed to me the right time. He doesn't have eyesight issues yet, so these are just resting lenses: I guess that, with all the bright lights that make the bridge, Jim's eyes wouldn't mind to wear some lenses that help them rest. We already have filtering lenses that help people who use bright light device like tablet and stuff so they could have upgraded that technology in the future, given their massive use of lit devices). So yes, have a bespectacled Jim.
Notes #3: Yes, there'll be a part II. I'm still dubious about the result so I'm withholding it, for the moment. :D
Notes #4: Starting to hate giving titles to manips. Co-neuron [livejournal.com profile] aleniakalain helped with this one.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): Do you think Uhura's skin is dark enough? In the original, the woman was white, so I had to darken the skin. Zoe is lighter than Nichelle and I feel I've picked the right hue, but let me know if you think she isn't dark enough. ;)

prue84: (Kirk 2.0)
Title: Untitled Crossover WIP fic banner
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Timeline: AOS (2.0) and Mirror (2.5)
Pairing: None (eventually Kirk/Spock for the fic)
Rating: G
Notes #1: This is a graphic related to a work-in-progress that is far from being near the half of it. I know one should post graphics about a fanfiction when or after said fanfiction is published, but... I gotta admit it that this piece was sitting unfinished (aka - all the "blue" part still to do) on my PC for quite some time. Two days ago I wanted to do something with PS that wouldn't involve too much manipping, so I've picked this one up. And ended up doing some manips after all, including the Emperor in red and the Vulcan warrior in blue. It would've been quite a waste to not post it, after having finished it so here we go. Also, I'm unusually quite proud of how this one turned out.
Notes #2: About the graphics (and, therefore, about the fanfiction). As you may easily see, the red side represents the mirror universe while the blue is our regular one; also, it's build as one side is the reflection of the other, and includes the more important characters of the fanfiction. The story is set in the reboot universe. Bla bla bla somethings happens that forces Jim to take hard decisions and the fate of the quadrant ends in his hands. And he'll be then torn to choose the red or the blue pill, so to speak, while Spock and Uhura are on his six.
Not gonna really spoiling much further, but more info - especially about the mirror universe - is mandatory.
Red (mirror). The guy at the very top is the Vulcan Emperor and he's got an evil face because he's evil, Jared Leto is my and [livejournal.com profile] aleniakalain original mirror character (this reminds me I have to poke her again about our shared, already finished and lost in post-production fic), the Klingon is Koloth and Mark Lenard is Keras, both older than their reboot counterparts. You can spot some TNG-era ships, Klingons and generally space battles. The mirror isn't really in its most peaceful times. This mirror universe is my and [livejournal.com profile] aleniakalain canon one, and the full events that lead to what you see on this graphic are summarized here (definitely spoilers inside).
Blue (regular universe). The fanfiction could be considered slightly AU because Pike (not gonna bother to wonder how) has survived. The guy at the very top is a Vulcan warrior and his actions are the ultimate catalyst of the mess in which Jim will end. There's some ship battle near his head, mirroring what happens in the mirror universe. Those ships under Jim's loyal crew are the Constitution Class fleet. Yep, there's Keras (I love this Romulan so much): Keras and his warbird might have an important place in the story.
