Hmm. I'm not even sure I'm able to summarize because there's some chaos in my mind.
Ok, first you need to know this:

1) not all katra will have the gift to find their t'hy'la. It's unknown if they don't have a t'hy'la/soulmate, if their t'hy'la simply is born in another time or whatever: what Vulcans believe is that people who had the luck to find their t'hy'la will keep reincarnate and in every reincarnation, they are destined to find each other. Some believe that the t'hy'lara couples known in Vulcan history are made by the same katra that keep reincarnate; in this case, the number of t'hy'lara katra is unknown.

2) in Jim and Spock's case, their destined to die before they can properly age together.

3) there's the concept about nepik and abrukhausu. The abrukhausu is the dominant of the couple, while the nepik is the submissive. They're not like their BDSM counterparts: the nepik can be the stronger in character, while the abrukhausu can be the most unstable, and it's not necessary that the nepik subs in bed. It really depends from couple to couple. [I don't remember if there's an explanation of this concept in the summary you read]

4) In Jim and Spock's case, Jim is the nepik and Spock the abrukhausu. Spock won't sub, sexually speaking, until they become a more stable couple way into their bond (this is his only quirk, that he always must be in control blah blah). Spock is the one whose character is more grounded: he's got a happy childhood and a stable family. He's balanced, for as much a Vulcan of this universe (slave of emotions) can be. Jim, on the other hand, got so much shit in his life... He's strong but not stable, at all, and he will deeply benefit from a grounded mate like Spock.
Jim will reach his true potential only with Spock at his side. And this happens in EVERY reincarnation of theirs.

Ok, now, for the actual reincarnations. Two of them are classic, for a T'hy'la fic. Whatever.

1) Ancient Vulcan warriors. Vulcan!Jim comes from the North of the planet. He has long blond hair and looks more like an elf (see Legolas' father in The Hobbit). He has been exiled from his own village (long story, only partially developed in my head, but he had been picked by the village as the next head of it, and the people didn't like the choice). He's quiet, elegant and open-minded. He roams with a le-matya as companion, as his people bond with a cub of le-matya when they're little. They have their own traditions, like a long ritual for burying the le-matya and different customs than the Vulcans from the South. (( They're an ethnic group/race that died out during the famous wars that lead to the raising of Surak - in this universe, at least. Their very existence is legend and there is little evidence that they really existed. ))
When he arrives at Spock's camp he didn't mean to stay (he decided to be a wanderer), but ends up staying. The commander takes a liking at him but, unfortunately, can't appoint him as next commander even if he wished to. Jim is good in battle but he's seen as "inferior" because of his delicate features and his crazy opinions, like the one about gender equality (Spock's people threat females as walking baby machines, mostly)
He and Spock eventually start to like each other and then find out they are meant for each other. The concept of t'hy'la is either still not invented or doesn't exist in this village. They bond and have children (through a female who will happen to be the one with Gaila's katra). Their dream is to give life to a new clan. I'm not sure if they manage of Spock dies before doing it (dies in war), but what I know is that Vulcan!Jim does found the clan, that later becomes known as the clan founded by t'hy'lara.
It's unknown if this is the first time their katra met.
Jim doesn't survive many years after Spock's death. He sees that his children are grown and adult, and then looses his will of live.
