Notes: A couple of days ago I saw this Zoro fanart on Deviantart. At first I have to admit I was baffled but then I found it awesome and I thought "this seems Schwarzenegger playing Zoro in a movie...". A minute later my mind was shifting to Dolph Lundgren (my longest actor crush, back since 1990 or something). The same evening I (re)watched some Dolph's movie; it was ten minutes into it ("Hidden Agenda", by the way)) that I hit the pause button and stared at Dolph: hell, he so reminded me Zoro so...
Do tell me he doesn't rock as Zoro, dare to!
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip) For this one it took me almost less time to do the actual manip than searching for all the images necessary (find some replicas in big images is so, so hard!). For Dolph, I found the photo that was almost perfect - almost because the shirt had too long sleeves, wasn't white and had no buttoned collar; the latter two were fixable, but the sleeves... well.
For the Going Merry I initially wanted to use the real replica build somewhere in Japan but the replica ship has some structures for passengers that the anime/manga one doesn't, so in the end I opted to use a figure instead.
Unfortunately he's missing his swords because I couldn't find images of replicas that would fit the perspective. Forgive me, Zoro! D:
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip) #2: I'm completely unhappy about how the haramaki turned out. I plan to re-do it as soon as I find some other decent stock image to work with - or I learn to paint fabric folds.
Notes #2: Yes, I do plan to do a post-time skip version too.

Date: 19/06/2014 03:35 (UTC)Oggi mi sono dedicata un po' a Zoro post-timeskip (non so se hai visto com'è Zoro da un paio di annetti): come base ho usato un Dolph da un promo di "The package" (cercatela, Dolph in vestaglia di raso bordeaux) e lì Dolph sembra un 60 enne: ho fatto per una volta Christian Troy a tutto tondo, visto che manco lui e McNamara riuscivano a togliere così tanti anni a Dolph e in così poco tempo! =))
