prue84: (Writing Kirk)
Summary of the third and last book. The title is the Vulcan word for death, and I don't need convoluted sentences to explain why.
Warning: if you've seen Oliver Stone's Alexander you might be ready to see how someone very relying on their soulmates react when said soulmates is brought away by Death.

Third part of the trilogy behind the spoiler cut )

prue84: (Writing Kirk)
Summary of the second book. The title is the Vulcan word for passion, as the book should have covered Spock and Jim butting heads until deciding they could as well do something more productive to vent off their energies.
It starts with Jim's Academy life and ends with... well, you see under the cut.
We happened to write a first Word file for this for a total of 161 pages.
While the first book was build with mixed chapters (see the notes of Book I), this one had mostly entirely Jim or Spock's chapters until their first real meeting.

Second part of the trilogy behind the spoiler cut )

prue84: (Writing Kirk)
Summary of the first book. The title is the Vulcan word for life as it covers the boys' life from birth to Jim entering Academy and Spock's promotion to Captain.

The book is finished, for obvious reasons (see below) un-betaed and with some words still in Italian ([livejournal.com profile] aleniakalain never managed a re-reading, in which she would usually fix english here and there). Split into four Word files, for a total of... well, many pages. Roughly more than 1000. Yep, pages.

I love the structure we chose. There are chapters in which we explore the same theme in both Spock and Jim life, in some kind of comparison to show how, in the end, their lives are entwined years before meeting. for chapters necessary to build Original or Secondary characters we opted for interludes, the point of view belonging to a specific character.
I don't really know how but we managed to get the perfect number of 200 chapters with 40 more interludes.

prue84: (Writing Kirk)
Since this fanfic is officially dropped, a summary post is in order to be linked whenever either I or [livejournal.com profile] aleniakalain post something related to our own Mirror Reboot world. It's easier this way than have to explain every single time what the reader need to know.

An introduction is in order.
We officially started writing this monster in 2010, after the fruitful attempt at trying to write something four-handed (we still need to fix that fic, though: sometimes it really sucks that English is not our mother language!).

At first it was simple: two characters developing as soon as meaningless chat RPG went by and a love-story to write. We took a logical approach: let's start from the first chapter, which was the birth of the boys, and let's go from there.
As months passed by ideas were included and what should have been a bigbang-long fic become a monster and soon not only the characters took a life of their own but the story got out of our hands. Which is why, in the end, we were forced to admit it was impossible to ever finish it and now the fic's been dropped. Even if it hurts, considering how much we put into it, and my fingers still hitch to try and continue it.
Oh, believe me, it would have been epic material, if we had the years necessary to properly reach the end.
The story was split in three parts (Book I, Ha’kiv - Life; , in an omage to Dante's Divina Commedia and had then developed in a kind of epic poem, with elements from Ilyades and ancient history.

Mandatory note: just don't go and steal from here for your own fic. If you're tempeted to, just ASK and don't go ahead before you got both mine and [livejournal.com profile] aleniakalain's permission to do so. This is our unborn baby so you might understand while we're very, very possessive about it.

I'll split the post because... too long! Notheless to say that they are potential spoilers in here for whatever art of one-shot lead you here.

prue84: (Kirk 2.5)
Title: Cosplaying Hubbies II: Captain Marvel & Rick Jones
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Marvel Comics, Star Trek (reboot)
Timeline: Mirror (2.5)
Pairing: Captain Marvel + Rick Jones, Kirk/Spock
Characters: Jim as Rick Jones, Spock as Captain Marvel
Rating: G
Tagline: What happens when a certain captain of a certain starship talks his bondmate into cosplaying... Part II
Series: This is the second in a series with Spock and Kirk cosplaying, a series that will eventually will pair with the one-shots series I'm writing (Apollo and Middy is already done). Well, it'll be a series If I can find the bases and costumes for certain characters.
About the manip: This manip is part of the Reboot Mirrorverse me and [livejournal.com profile] aleniakalain are slowly writing together.
Rick Jones, friend of all superheroes and your neighborhood sidekick. Very human and very super-powerless (mostly).
Captain Marvel, tube son of a legendary hero with the same name, alien, half-breed, Kree. They really don't share any bromance the like Spock would usually require to at least consider cosplaying. But he might've been won by the way one is related to the other.
During a very complicate, all-continuum threatening war, Rick has taken a fatal energy blow. A Captain Marvel, coming from the future and who has tried all the time to change the past to especially avoid this from happen, has to again share his life-force with Rick to save him. They become like one, sharing molecules: when one is on Earth the other is in the Negative Zone, when in front of any mirroring surface they see the other's reflection, they speak in a way that could resemble telepathy; both with a life of their own (well, fine, Genis doesn’t really have a life, besides booze and women), but completely dependant from each other. One a part of the other, in the most physical meaning of the word. They share so much, and in such an intimate way, that they piqued Spock's curiosity. They just have what he would mostly want to share with Jim - though the downside would be no more sex, and Spock doesn't really agree with the idea to stop taking his delicious nepik ("submissive"), let alone not be able to live on the same physical plane at the same time.
Let's just say that this couple-not-couple was Spock's pick. Jim wasn't this happy, considering all it took him to dress as Rick was to procure a pair of gold bands and snag something casual from his closet while his hubby had all the fun with the costume, the wig and the bodypainting. He may have pouted some hours because of this, even because he likes Genis more but Spock's been adamant: the stronger (and the alien) of the two was going to be him.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): This may cause some heavy thunderstorm. It's taken me few hours to put this manip together and, instead of doing as always - namely, let the manip sit on the HD for months - I've decided to just go and post it before I could trash it. I'm not satisfied with the result, at all.

About the manip: Second shot from the "At the farm" series, started here. See there for more notes.
Add. info: The chest tattoo means "Property of S’chn T’gai Spock". Jim did it because, despite how he claims to have an allergy for everything cute, is just as sappy as his bondmate.

Timeline: Mirror (2.5)
Characters: James Kirk

About the manip: This manip is part of the Reboot Mirrorverse me and [livejournal.com profile] aleniakalain are slowly writing together.
Jim's doing some photoshooting session for a magazine (one of his duties as captain is to do a little PR now and then, mostly when the Empire orders him), so here you have, the first shot of Captain Kirk chilling out at the former-Kirk's farm, with one his favorite activities: bonding with horses. :D
In our mirror universe, Jim had a childhood different from his J.J.Abrams counterpart (first of all, George hadn't died the day of Jim's birth). During childhood, Jim bonded with grandpa Tiberius' horses, especially with a wonderful Friesian named Goliath, to the point that he was almost tempted to inherit grandpa's business in breeding horses. Now, I'm fairly aware the horse in the photo is nowhere a Fresian, so Jim's not posing with Goliath or his sons.
Series: Yep, there are others coming. I have one already finished, plus two other images ready to be manipped.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip) I feel the need to explain the odd coloring. Have you ever seen a vintage postcard, which images were originally shot in b&w to then be hand-colored? Well, I started trolling playing a bit just for fun with colors (especially to see if I could improve the low quality of the original image) and I loved how it turned out, so I decided to keep it.
I can see that, two centuries from now, some vintage (ancient) filter could be used just for an original touch to the shots.
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip) #2: Do not ask me how I managed to partially hide the fact the original model was mildly haired on chest and belly...

Tagline: What happens when a certain captain of a certain starship talks his bondmate into cosplaying... Part I
Series: This started as a series with Spock and Kirk cosplaying, a series that will eventually will pair with the one-shots series I'm writing (Apollo and Middy is already done). Well, it'll be a series If I can find the bases and costumes for certain characters.
About the manip: This manip is part of the Reboot Mirrorverse me and [livejournal.com profile] aleniakalain are slowly writing together.
Jim somehow managed to drag Spock to one of those nice comic conventions where all kind of geeks dress like their favorite characters. Nonetheless to say that Jim is one of them and, for a sneaky bastard captain like him, is a piece of cake to talk his favorite mate Vulcan into please him. Spock agrees only for characters who are canon couples or have strong slash fandom and potential.
So, here's our favorite commanding duo as Apollo and Midnighter, the comic book world’s first gay couple way before Northstar's marriage or Green Arrow homosexuality made it to the news media. If you don't know the characters, you MUST try Authority (from the defunct Wildstorm) because not only these two are a couple, but they're definitely sweet, definitely bad ass (no your usual stereotypical gay characters) and definitely territorial-protective over each other. They last through five volumes through things that would've broken apart most of the hetero couples (they do break once, but... there's a trick in volume 3). Oh, and they adopt and raise a kickassing daughter. :D
Alongside with other two former Authority members, they returned in the New 52 Relaunch from DC, where Wildstorm universe and DC have been rebooted and merged. Apollo and Middy are featured in Stormwatch now and their relationship is starting to develop.
Notes #2: Though it's a Jim/Spock manip, it can be enjoyed by Authority's fans to. Doesn't Chris Pine rock for the role? :D

Title: Babylon's caged le-matya
Artist: Hakka ( [personal profile] prue84 )
Fandom: Star Trek (reboot)
Timeline: Mirror (2.5)
Characters: James Kirk
Rating: NC-17 (soft nude)
Tagline: Years before becoming the Empire's most known (and drolled on) Captain, James Kirk was already famous, in his own way...
Series: The Babylon's le-matya
About the manip: This manip is part of the Reboot Mirrorverse me and [livejournal.com profile] aleniakalain are slowly writing (something like almost 400 pages already written... and we're still in the boys' teen years. -.-). In this universe Jim - alongside his long-time friend Gaila - worked for some time as go-go boy at the infamous nightclub Babylon at San Francisco, where many races met and mix to have fun and get partners for the night. Spock meets him here for the first time, and one of Spock's friends will name Jim "the Babylon's le-matya". ;)
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): I spent an awful amount of hours on this and the file was sitting on my PC since... well, let's say I worked on this some weeks ago (in a marathon of like 10 hours *wristle*); I have decided to share it before I could drop it in the bin - as I always do because I'm never satisfied so... let me know what you think! ^^

About the manip: Empire's PR forced asked their newly appointed goldenboy/hero human Captain to get interviewed for a well-know magazine.
Notes: All us nu!Kirk lovers kinda had an heart attack when stumbled across Chris Pine's Details photoshoot, right?
Well, I had not one but two heart attacks and like two orgasms. Beside Captain Fine's gorgeous body in fucking leather and his hotness offered to us drooling girls after stealing Zach's way of making love with posing in front of the camera... well, how can you make someone understand how you feel when Chris Pine poses like your fucking mirror reboot Jim Kirk ?? Yes, mine and [livejournal.com profile] aleniakalain 's own mirror version of reboot James T. Kirk wears (since before August when we started develop that mirror universe) skin-tight leather pants (not so tight to make him look blatantly queer, if you know what I mean), and a black, sleeveless shirt (taken from a one from the Energie brand I own since I was a teenager and used to wear males clothes). The only difference between our version and Pine's look is the boots: in our universe, Kirk wears New Rocks boots (more useful to kick some asses, believe me - try "New rock heavenly" on google) but... yeah, some photos for our own Kirk, yayyy! My mood, when I saw the cover, was like "WTF WTF *_* *_*" for hours, no kidding.
Anyway, my mind then totally degenerated until the Muse begged me to convert Details to a Vulcan-Human Empire's related magazine. When I did this one, the plain photo had not been released yet (by the way, what's the point in PS-removing the chain for the cover? o_O) so I had worked on the cover version here, covering all the titles I could: redoing the hands had been a nightmare and I've been able only because I had to put some written things there, but the arms, trees on the background and bits on the car has been reconstructed by me. It took me two or three days of work (how to waste time, yes, I know) plus an additional evening to add the tattoos, and I finished this two weeks ago.
Anyway, that's what I got!
Disclaimer: Off course I don't own Details magazine (I would have loved to buy this month's copy but, after seeing the photo I wanted wasn't included...). I didn't use fonts related to the magazine (which are unavailable, actually) but free fonts found around DAfonts. I'm saying it just the be safe.
