Series collecting new ideas for alternate versions of Elizabeth
Braddock who are currently serving on the Captain Britain
Corps (or have yet to get the test).
Many are elaborations over canon realities where an Elizabeth
Braddock has been seen, while others might relate to timelines
in which canon established a Warren Worthington but no Betsy
Braddock was introduced or mentioned.
Original timelines and ideas will be also featured, either from
canon realities where neither appeared, or completely
unrelated to Marvel published material.

As Captain Britain of Seat 616 has discovered, in most of the
timelines in which she's alive and serving as champion, she is or has
been involved with a Warren Worthington. It should come with a
surprise, but it actually doesn't - it seems some paths are just meant
to cross. As two butterflies, souls sister but different like day and

REALITIES NUMBER DESIGNATIONS
Unless otherwise stated, the numbers of the seat (aka Reality
Number) has been random generated. I tried my best to not assign
numbers that are already canon given to any alternate reality, but
the Marvel canon is full of realities that still haven't been given an
official designation (listed with temporary numbers at the Marvel
Fandom wikia) that can get their number at some point.
Also, I would need to often check in case new realities dropped and
took the number I generated. For this reason, I can't guarantee
that the number hasn't been used in Marvel canon either for any
X-Men AU or another AU seen in any non-X title.
Please do not crosscheck on Marvel Database.
REALITIES NAME DESIGNATIONS
In case of canon realities, the Reality Name might be lifted from
Marvel Database. I reserve the right to change it, though, should I
find it lacking - as when its named after the point of divergence (i.e.
"Wolverine Never Joined the X-Men") or is just a description (i.e.
"World War II Was Won By Nazis")
CHARACTERS NAMES
For realities that diverge from the canon at a specific point ("What
If...?" types) but mantain similar history, the characters' names won't
be changed - minor changes might apply, such as i.e. Elizabeth's
diminutive or a different superhero chosen moniker.
For non-canon realities that are completely unrelated from any canon
AU and modern setting, I will strive to pick different forms of the
canon names, with optional graphic changes to make them unique
an unrelated to a specific real-life language. The changes might not
be reflected in the original fanfiction, if the AU is related to a
fanfiction of mine.
PICTURES
The pics used are canon or commissioned for rejected pitched stories.
Nonetheless, I will put links to fanarts I either imagine when I think
about the specific Betsy, or uniform designs I like.

NOTES
¯▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄¯
Series born out of a silly habit of mine of eventually put my favorite
pairings in alternate timelines and storylines.
This need grew stronger for this pair in the weeks after the wake of
Dark X-Men #5 and Warren's ending there.
RISK OF OOCNESS
The characters will be put into plots or stories that will force them to
be very different characters from the one we know.
In some stories or realities things will go so wrong that how a
character reacts or acts will be the opposite to what we would expect
from them to in canon.
At some point, one of more characters (although I'm speaking about
Betsy and Warren mostly) might feel OOC, or they will not fit what
perceived image of either X-Man/X-Woman we as fan have created
in our mind.
Of all the fandoms to play AUs with, I think X-Men is the best, for
even in canon most of the times alternate versions are what amounts
to glorified OCs with name and powers of an established character.
I've read about alternate versions of A-list X-Men or X-Woman that
literally had nothing about the original, minus the same mutation,
some inverted (in a similar way Havok was inverted during Axis),
some stripped of their very attitude, some acting in ways that make
no sense. And then there's Exiles and New Exiles – those series
alone should put this whole matter to rest.
Not to mention that, at times, even in the main timeline there's
plenty of istances when a writer doesn't get a character or their voice,
and has the character act or say things that make them OOC.
So. I feel quite safe when I say that there's no need for any disclaimer
or tag about OOCness.

NEW CORPS: NOW VS LORE
¯▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄¯
I... gave up. I just can't explain how these Betsy were chosen or
where they take their powers from.
Tini Howards didn't explain anything other than spell. We're shown
two Betsy counterparts (the one with the hammer and Violet Swan)
already wearing the Captain Britain colors/costume when the spell is
completed (if we consider the spell “completed” when the mosaic is
reformed, which is just a guess), hinting that they were already
Captains Britain and the spell just allowed them to hear the summon.
But it's also implied that no new Captain Britain was chosen after
Incursions wiped out the previous Corps.
Also. Betsy destroyed the Amulet; yet later there's mention on page
about the test for Lizzie (Captain Carter), implying that the old test
(Amulet/Sword) is still the way how new Captains Britain are made.
Does any timeline have its own Amulet, by the way? Judging from
how furious Saturnyne was after Betsy destroyed the amulet, and
according to her words, it seems that the Amulet was “unique”. By
destroying it, Betsy thus deprived all her multiverse counterparts
from having an Amulet? But it makes no sense that there's only one
Amulet, as each Captain should have had their own. Avalon (the evil
Brian Braddock alternate version) has the Sword of Might, but so
does Lionheart, thus there are at least two Sword of Might coexisting
in the same time (I think New Excalibur also established that
Avalon's army was made of people empowered by Amulets stolen to
other Captains but I'm not sure at the moment). Now the Sword is
held by Brian Braddock, but could it be that Lionheart still wields it,
thus having two Swords in 616? Again, there's only one Amulet or
any Captain had their own? Did Betsy destroy an unique artifact or
not?
Where the current Captains take their powers from? Did they receive
the test, so they still have an Amulet or a Sword? At least two of
them, seen in panels when the Corps is gathered, wear a sword at
their side.
While this might be just an artistic choice, it could suggest that
these Betsy own the Sword of Might. Or none
received the test, and they suddenly found themselves wearing the
Captain Britain colors when Saturnyne completed the mosaic?
Did these Betsys even exist in their own timelines, or were they
created by the splinters of 616!Betsy – and, if so, they were created
when Saturnyne finished fixing the mosaic, or the moment Betsy
shattered during her sword duel? And if they already existed, they
where molded into Captains Britain by the spell? All can be true,
and anyone reading their story can have their own vision on this.
And what about the Brians Braddock of their timelines? Do they
exist, did they all die during the Incursions (meaning that
616!Betsy is one of the few Betsys with still her twin brother alive)
or they're alive but were simply stripped of their powers by the spell,
to be replaced by their in-universe sister?
Tini Howard, in a text page, specified that the title mostly went to a
Brian Braddock – and other people were picked only if a Braddock
was unavailable. This is a retcon, as in the past we've met only a
handful of Brian Braddock counterparts, with most of the Captains
original characters who didn't have any known counterpart on
Earth 616. But, retcon aside, this info establishes that the old Corps,
the one wiped out during the Incursions, was mostly made by Brians
Braddock which means that most of the Brians Braddock in the
multiverse died. Or, at least, that there's an high chance that any
timeline who had a Captain Britain now is deprived of its Brian
Braddock. Again, does this mean that most of the Betsy currently
serving in the Corps lost their brother?
The issue about the source of their powers is important as well: as
reminded on panel by Betsy herself, Brian used to reach Otherworld
through the powers given to him by the Amulet (and then used the
doors in the Citadel to reach other timelines). 616!Betsy has the
Starlight Sword that allows her not only to reach Otherworld but to
move through realities (with Askani guiding her), but how the other
Captains travel to Otherworld, if they don't have the Amulet/Sword?
Lore on the Amulet itself is a bit confusing: does the power come
from the costume or from the Amulet? Brian himself was seen
wearing the Amulet only in the early years, and the Amulet
resurfaced only when he went bad under Morgana's spell. Does it
mean he held the Amulet within himself?
I swear, I don't know. Nothing make sense. The further you try to
delve into it the more questions and conflicting info you stumble
into. At this point things are so convoluted that I don't think
anything other than a new retcon or soft-reboot that erases Tini
Howard's whole thing can fix it.
Anyway. Hoxor at CBR.com forums offered an alternate
interpretation. For this series I stuck to the old lore of Amulet/Sword
test, but this one is interesting the same and worth to be shared.
Full post here.
“The way I see it (and it is said in the encyclopedia), her body turned
to glass and through this, several alternate versions of Betsy as Captain
Britain were created, all possessing the Starlight Sword. That's why she
needed a new body (created by Sinister), because her old body is
literally the CB Corps.”
(…)
“The Starlight Citadel is located in a Nexus of realities (Otherworld)
and as the Starlight Sword contains all of the Citadel's power (according
to Morgan), the source of their powers comes from the sword (Citadel).”.
