Notes: John Cho is Korean, despite Sulu (and George Takei) is of Japanese descending, so I don't feel bad for picking Grace Park.
Grace is very athletic and of the right age: she just "clicks", for the kickass pilot of the flagship. My second choice, Gong Li, couldn't stand a chance, sorry.
About the name: Hikaru (“radiance”) is a unisex name, so it can be used either Hikaru or the feminine form Hikari; I’ve decided to use Hikari for a WIP of mine way before "Parallel lives" (Star Trek #29/#30) came out. Happy to see that, for Sulu, I've guessed the half-canon choice. :D
Tec stuffs (aka Behind The Manip): This cosplayer, as Jane Kirk, did an amazing photoshoot, with even two shots with her with tribbles: sadly, the pics aren't much big and they're jpgs of not so decent quality. Well, at least I learned how shadows work and tried to replicate them as best as I could.
Yes, I fixed the canon and added the rank stripes. :D
